Did you know…
that our solar panels have a public dashboard where you can monitor energy production in real time?
In September 2015, COS installed a 20 Kw solar panel array system on the northwest end of the property, just west of the community garden. In 2020, we added even more solar panels. Since installation, the solar panels have generated more than 389 MWH of energy and produce nearly 65 MWH of energy a year. That amounts to 603,608 lbs of CO2 emissions saved or the equivalent of planting 4,560 trees.
We invite you to check out the public dashboard and learn more about the impact of the church’s solar panels. As COS continues to increase stewardship efforts, take a look at the facilities page on the website to read about the building’s history and projects.
If you take a deep dive into the solar panel production, you might notice a significant dip on April 8, 2024 at around 3 pm. Perhaps you’ll remember what event triggered this dip.
