In view of Council’s responsibility for supervising the sacraments, COS offers a Children’s Communion Class for children wishing to participate in the Lord’s Supper. We wish parents to be listening to their children for signs of desire, interest, or readiness to attend such a class.
In a class at a level appropriate to the children’s ages, the pastor will speak with them about the meaning of communion and the commitment they make when they participate. At a later date, in the context of a worship service, those children will give voice to their faith and then be invited to eat the bread and drink the wine of Holy Communion. The next class will be held on May 15 at 5pm in the COS living room. A parent should attend with their child.
