This week’s sustainability tip is about cleaning. There are several ways to cut back on waste when it comes to cleaning your space.
- Switch to reusable rags-avoid single use towels and disinfectant wipes. A great way to reuse old items around your home is to make cleaning rags out of old t-shirts and kitchen towels.
- Refuse other single use items- these include disposable rubber gloves, dryer sheets, and mop cloths. If you’re able, invest in reusable rubber gloves, wool dryer balls, and reusable mops.
- Make your own cleaning products-baking soda and vinegar can be used as a substitute for many common cleaning products. They can be used to make bathroom cleaners, floor cleaners, and even laundry detergents. Instead of using products with synthetic fragrances, try adding essential oils to your own homemade products. You can even reuse old spray bottle to store your homemade products.
