Getting up early on a Sunday morning to go through details of the service, set up chairs, and schlepp equipment from my office to the sanctuary is the grunt work of ministry. But this Sunday there were some nice perks, as well. First was this beautiful sunrise:
I was walking from my car, and it was so picturesque that I put down my backpack, opened up my laptop, and started taking pictures.
The second perk was getting to lead some great songs. Here are two:
My Shepherd Will Supply My Need
There Is a Fountain Filled with Blood
The final perk was getting to lead worship with the Guitarchestra, which now includes Laura de Jong on vocals. It’s hard not to enjoy a group that can boast about 100 strings between them. Plus, they’re just interesting, fun people.
